At Magna, we strongly believe that a foundation of creativity, collaboration and the quest to inspire are at the core of any successful entrepreneur. In our view, there’s no better way to foster the development of these traits than through music, and specifically the experience that comes with playing in bands and creating the music that you love. Conceptualizing, creating, collaborating with band mates, merchandising, and of course, entertaining and inspiring others; the abilities acquired are meaningful and vast.
Our Founder & CEO, Joshua Sason’s story is a prime example. Starting his first band at twelve years old and still writing and playing music today, he’s parlayed the traits and attributes acquired along the way into the creation of Magna at twenty two years old, becoming a serial entrepreneur, investor and thought leader who equates the process of building to companies to composing pieces of music -- and performing live to delivering keynote addresses.
“Being in bands from such a young age has provided, bar none, the most vivid entrepreneurial training one could hope for. Of course, I’ve come to learn and appreciate this years later, in retrospect. Now, we want to pay it forward and foster the next generation of great entrepreneurs through a love for music,” Sason says.
Through the giving of funds, time, energy and expertise, and with great partners, the Magna: Initiative will enable a reality in which more children in their most formative years are given the opportunity, through forward thinking programs and educational means, to learn and create music that they enjoy in a collaborative manner. Essentially, we want to see more kids starting and playing in bands, and we know that we’ll see more and better entrepreneurs later in life as a result.
